Arts2 Altimeter Setup - Spring 2013


Installation of the ARTS2 dual-deployment <br />altimeter, in an av-bay coupler... the reverse side of the G10 fiberglass sled, <br />showing the micro-switch shunt plate, <br />and two 9-volt battery holders... micro-switch installed... the switch lies flush with the inside of the av-bay, and is<br />reached by an access hole through the airframe... drill hole marks for the battery holders... battery holders installed... the sleeves for the av-bay are <br />fiberglassed to the sled... wiring from the batteries and shunt switch is <br />run to the lower side of the sled... altimeter removed, showing battery holder screws. Each one was cut <br />off with a dremel tool to avoid interfering with the circuit board... altimeter in place... the altimeter is powered up for diagnostic tests, with leads shorting the main <br />and apogee terminals to simulate continuity with deployment charges... running diagnostics on the board... the batteries are held in with tie-wraps, <br />which were more secure than velcro... inserting sled into av-bay... the wiring is run through the bulkhead to the <br />terminal block which connects to the charge <br />holder, with safety shunt inserted into the switch... J-powered Tomahawk, with dual-deployment <br />altimeter installed, ready to fly.
